THE LIGHT IN THE TREES
This piece is a ceramic tree with a platform in the branches to hold a candle. The piece was created by carving the trunk and roots out of a large piece of clay, then carving the branches, and finally attaching the two pieces before firing. The concept behind it is that of the home, as I live in a wooded area and consider the warmth of my family home to be the light in the trees. Created in 2017.
THE ROSE BOWL
This piece is a ceramic press bowl with rose and vine applique. The concept idea was aestheticism and nature-based.

THE CAT BOWL
This piece is a ceramic press bowl created to look like a cat. The ears and tail are appliques and I included inward depressions on the eyes to give them depth. The concept was simply press bowls.

THE TWIN VASES
This piece is a coil vase that is split into two pieces, which rise up and lean on each other. The concept was a whimsical design, and so with this piece, I tried to capture the essence of some foreign growth one might find in a mystical forest.

THE FADING TIGER
This piece is a mixed media sculpture using wire, plaster, and paint (acrylic and spray). The concept of this piece was the endangerment of the Bengal tiger, a creature victim to poaching. The plaster fades away to reveal a wire interior, symbolizing the diminishing population of tigers. Spray paint was used for the wounds because I felt that spray painting was the most violent way to capture in my piece the violent acts committed against these animals.

CAT CATCHING BIRD
This piece is a wire sculpture of a cat reaching to catch a bird. The concept behind this was motion, that the wire sculpture had to portray movement. The piece is finished with a simple bow to make it a domestic scene of a housecat on the hunt.
